What to put in skincare fridge

In summer, when the thermometer exceeds +25C, cosmetics undergo a series of changes. Cosmetics and makeup products are similarly affected by the humid air that forms in the bathroom after taking a hot shower. For cosmetics to last longer, they should be kept in the refrigerator, because the coolness prolongs their life, and in some cases improves their properties. What products can not survive the heat? And which can be left on the dressing table?

Why doesn’t face cream belong on a shelf in the bathroom?

Constant temperature fluctuations, steam emissions and high levels of humidity in the room are the most dangerous enemies of cosmetics, and face cream is no exception to the list. The above parameters often contribute to the rapid spread of bacteria, especially when natural ingredients are involved. Direct sunlight, as well as electric light, is also detrimental to the cream. They activate a variety of chemical reactions, including oxidation processes, and as a consequence, changing the texture of the cream, reducing its effectiveness, and sometimes make it unsafe for sensitive skin.

Face cream should always be stored in the refrigerator on the bottom shelf. This way you can extend its shelf life and enjoy the results claimed by the manufacturer. When buying a cream and resorting to its use, always read the storage conditions. These are usually found on the back of the bottle or jar. A bottle fitted with a pump dispenser is best. Such packaging does not allow you to touch the contents of the container, and only squeeze the desired portion of the cream, because even on the hands accumulates a considerable number of bacteria that can lead to failure of the consistency.

Pharmacy cosmetics aimed at the treatment need coolness

Cosmetics intended to provide a therapeutic effect, such as eliminating acne, require a certain temperature regime, and most often – no higher than 12C. It is not possible to maintain such a regime in room conditions, and there is only one solution: the refrigerator. If you do not observe the parameters of storage, medical cosmetics simply cease to work, and perhaps even bestow a new batch of rashes and other ailments. A similar situation is with cosmetics containing ascorbic acid (also known as vitamin C). It is also recommended to keep in the refrigerator, otherwise it is subjected to rapid oxidation and, consequently, deterioration.

Does the scent of the perfume open at low temperatures?

There is an opinion that the perfume, or rather its fragrance, is disclosed when stored in a cool place, while the heat and even more so direct sunlight enhance the evaporation of the perfume and contribute to the volatility of the top notes, respectively, change the formula and the scent itself, which is often transformed is not in the best way. But at the same time, the advice that says that the perfume should be kept in the refrigerator is untrue! After all, too cold air contributes to changing the formula.

Perfume should be stored at room temperature, but in a dark place, such as in a closet. And it’s better to pay tribute to the packaging, equipped with a dispenser-sprayer. In such a container perfume components are not exposed to damaging chemical reactions due to lack of oxygen access, in addition, they do not evaporate and do not endow the nearby objects and facilities with their scent. It is important to remember that the shelf life of the perfume does not exceed one and a half years, after this period the bottle should be thrown in the trash, because at the end of its shelf life it acquires strong alcoholic and bitter notes, which, alas, do not give a zest to the image.

It instantly eliminates puffiness and makes the skin look fresher. In addition, it will be a real salvation for the skin in the heat.

Homemade creams and masks should be kept only in the refrigerator in a closed container. Shelf life, in turn, depends on what created a particular cosmetic. For example, products based on milk products can not be stored, the maximum exposure in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours if there is no time for care or change of plans immediately after cooking. If the homemade mask contains natural vegetable and essential oils and nothing else, it can be kept in the refrigerator for 7-14 days.
