1. While many people can get away with using a lighter cleanser during the summer months when the air tends to be a bit more humid, Fall and Winter both dictate the necessity for cleansers that will clean effectively without stripping your skin of essential moisture.
Helpful hint: When looking for a good cleanser, avoid products that contain SLS (Sodium lauryl and sodium laureth sulfates) because they are actually common pesticides used to kill plants and insects. They have corrosive properties, pollute our groundwater, and are known skin irritants. While bar soaps have improved somewhat over the years, they still tend to be more drying than liquid face washes because the binders that hold them together usually have a higher pH level* than ingredients formulated for the face. 2. Exfoliating your skin is probably the single most important thing you can do right now to get your skin into shape.
