An Important Message From the Founder
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closing of La Ishá High Performance Natural Skin Care. This was an extremely difficult and emotional decision for me after 13 wonderful years of supplying you with safe, effective skin care products. We were the very first all-natural, organic brand to offer full ingredient disclosure and essential-oil-based products that actually support the long-term health and condition of the skin.
I had hoped to offer you at least one more opportunity to stock up on your favorite formulations before we closed our doors, but the emergence of the coronavirus and the erupting pandemic has unfortunately pre-empted this option. I’m sure you know by now that we at La Ishá have always placed a premium on your health and safety, carefully choosing to do business only with vendors and suppliers who share our philosophy. Unfortunately, we feel that the nature and uncertainty of this pandemic is such that no one in the handcrafted field can guarantee the absolute safety of anything, in spite of wearing protective gear, masks and running air HEPA filters all during the manufacturing process – which, by the way, we have ALWAYS done as a precautionary measure during the 13 years we have been in business.
We tried to estimate the trajectory and duration of the pandemic based on what we are seeing internationally and feel that it will not be over any time soon. As a small business that makes all our products fresh to order, we keep an extremely limited amount of ingredients and finished items on hand. The few products we currently have in stock were assembled under very strict guidelines before the advent of the pandemic, and their ingredients were harvested long before the Coronavirus had emerged anywhere on the global map. I have complete confidence in their safety.
We currently have only a handful of some products, not all, and I am making them available online on a first come first served basis. Some items may be bubble-wrapped when you receive them because we are out of many packaging materials and feel that we cannot safely order new ones right now. For those of you who have been with us from our humble beginnings in 2007, you may recall that we started out by bubble-wrapping and hand-labeling everything we made because we could not afford boxes or professional labels at the time. We’ve certainly come a long way since then.
Our website is currently open for business and will remain open only as long as our limited inventory is available. You can check to see which items are in stock by clicking on your favorite products. Items that are no longer available will be marked “sold out”.
These are challenging times for us all. Please stay calm, safe and vigilant as we ride out this pandemic. It will pass, but the future of the entire world depends on all of us being kind and looking out for one another. I have attached an easy recipe for Do-It-Yourself Hand Sanitizer, to help those of you who were not able to purchase any of the commercially viable brands before they ran out. See below.
Thank you for your business and support over the years. I wish you the very best of health and better days. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me at SharonGnattEpel@La-Isha.com.
It has been my honor to serve you.
Wishing you the blessings of good health and timeless beauty,
Sharon Gnatt Epel

How To Make Your Own Effective Hand Sanitizer
If you were not able to find any Hand Sanitizer in the stores before the run on them took place, or you have already run out and don't want to spend $145.00 to purchase a bottle of Purell online, here is a very easy recipe to make your own, using inexpensive ingredients that are available in most groceries, drug and health food stores. Here is exactly what you'll need:
3/4 cup of isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (at least 70% percent - the higher percentage the better)
1/4 cup of pure aloe vera gel (to help keep your hands smooth and to counteract the harshness of alcohol).
10 drops of your choice of an essential oil, such as lavender. This is an optional ingredient used for fragrance only.
(Please note that using an aloe vera product that contains additional ingredients like xanthan gum, for example, may not produce optimal results.)
How to Put Everything Together
First of all, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before making the hand sanitizer.
Use a clean spoon or whisk.
Make sure the alcohol used for the hand sanitizer is not diluted or its efficacy will be greatly reduced.
Pour all the ingredients into a bowl or a glass measuring cup. Using one that has a pouring spout will make spills less likely.
Mix all the ingredients together using a spoon and then beat with a whisk to turn the sanitizer into a gel. Be sure to mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they are well blended
Pour the ingredients into an empty squeeze bottle for easy use, and label it “hand sanitizer.”
Please remember that using hand sanitizer is not a substitute for good old-fashioned hand washing.
